The boys went away to a medieval camp up north, and I am stuck at home. Boo Hoo.
As much as I am going to miss them I have got my plate full: dog sitting. Cody, the boxer we are going to be looking after for 12 weeks over summer is having his first overnight stay this weekend. We are on day 1 now and so far I have discovered;
Cody loves Cleo
Cody wants to either play or eat our cats. Cleo sits by with a confused expression on her face, while Cody stares at the cats and watches them wherever they go. It is my mission this weekend to make him a bit calmer around them, and for the cats to feel comfortable with having yet another slobbery face in the house.
But wow Cody is cute. and SO slobbery. And it is so great to see Cleo sprinting around the yard with an equal sized playmate. needless to say they are tuckered out, although Cody is still staring at Arlo while he pretends to sleep on the couch.
Tomorrow we are going on a 10km trek to Te Horo to go and visit Nic’s Mum and Step-Dad and maybe the dogs will get to play with their little dog, Ness. In the meantime they will have a big huge yard to play in while we try to be civilized indoors.
Thank God that i’m not home totally alone all the time. I always have my big buddy Cleo with me.
Yesterday we went to my friends’ house for morning tea in Wellington. Sitting in the sunshine with Ruth and Sharon was delightful!
We sat out in the sunshine, and Cleo got to have a lie around in the yard.
Then, it’s off to Animates. I love taking Cleo shopping, and she gets lots of pats and attention when she goes there, as well as picking out what treats she likes.
After that, we went to visit Cody and his owners on the coast. Cody is a gorgeous boxer who we will be looking after for 12 weeks while his owners are overseas. This is the second time they have met, and they are still getting to know each other. Cody is super playful, and in no time they were both sprinting around the yard, then they chilled out together! So cute!
The rest of the day was extremely chilled out, that’s for sure. Lots of travelling and chatting and fun takes up a bunch of energy. We had such a lovely day.
Here is to friends, and friendship – human and canine form!
